Two years have passed since my father (to die).

Answer: Two years have passed since my father died.

Well, it is many years since they first (meet).

Answer: Well, it is many years since they first met.

It is eight years since jerry (to lose) his mother.

Answer: It is eight years since jerry lost his mother.
