Number:

DEFINITION: Number refers to the number in general. In Grammar, which denotes any numerical or multi-dimensional state of a neurological noun or pronoun, it is called number or verb.

Types of Number:

Number is usually two types. Namely -

·         Singular number
   
·          Plural number

Singular Number:

By which, the single dimension of any noun or noun pronoun is called singular number or singular.

Example: - Book, Brother, Cow, Tree, etc.

Plural number:

By which, any numerical noun or pronoun's multiplicity is called plural number.

Example: - Books, Brothers, Cows, Trees, etc.

Rule to change Singular Number to Plural Number-

Rule 1:
Typically singular Noun to the end of 's' is to add plural –

Rule 2:
If the end of the singular noun is s, ss, sh, x, or z, and the end ch is like 'ch', then plural is added by adding es at the end of the noun.

Exception
If the word 'ch' of the singular noun ends in 'ch', then 'no' is added to 'es', and adding 's' will be plural. For example –

Rule 3:
If the last letter of singular noun is 'o' and its previous letter is a consonant, then plural by adding 'es' at the end of that noun. Such as

 Exception
But at the end of some noun 'o' and 'o', there is a plural to add 's' at the end of the end despite having a consonant.
